Assessment of working accuracy (mixing accuracy and carry-over) Producers of compound feed for livestock shall, in accordance with the Feed Hygiene Regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 183/2005 of the European Parliament and the Council of 12 January 2005), demonstrate the effectiveness of the mixing facilities in terms of homogeneity and take technical or organizational measures to prevent cross-contamination and to avoid or, if necessary, minimize errors.
The Research Institute of Feed Technology offers the experimental investigation of the working accuracy of production plants, the execution of which is based on the „Guide to Verification of Working and Mixing Accuracy in Feed Companies“ and includes the following parameters:
– Setpoint balance, that means recovery of a test substance added to the mixture components in a proportion of 1: 10,000 or 1: 100,000, which simulates the behaviour of micro-components in the production process,
– Mixture quality after the mixing process as well as in the finished product (optional: determination of the necessary mixing time),
– Carry-over or contamination of the following batches during recipe changes
